His teaching

Here are a few subjects which were developed by father Finet during his retreats :

- "If you knew the gift of God" : the retreat is a call.

- "H's me, don't be afraid" : faith is our reply.

- "He chose us in Christ" : the Plan of God.

- "God is Love" : the Trinity.

- "Dwell in my Love" : the Eucharistic offering

- "If the grain of wheat dies" : the mystery of suffering.

- "As I have loved you, love one another" : fraternal life.

- "I won't leave you orphans" : the Holy Spirit.

- "Woman, here is your son" : To Jesus through Mary.

"He chose us in Christ"

Words of Life

"He chose us in Christ":

The eternal Plan of God.

In order to really know the teaching of Jesus, it is good to understand the eternal Plan of God. Saint Paul reveals it to us in chapter 1 of the Epistle to the Ephesians, verses 3-10. It is the key to the whole retreat.

"Blessed be God, the Father of Jesus-Christ, Our Lord, who has blessed us and showered us with the blessings of the Spirit in Heaven, in Christ.
Before the world was created, He chose us, in Christ, that we might be before Him, holy and immaculate, in His presence in Love".

Take good note of this sentence :

"Before the world was created, He chose us in Christ"...

Are we convinced of this ?
From all eternity, you, you and I, we have been seen by the Father in His Word.
"He has destined us in advance to become for Him adopted sons through Jesus ; benevolent Plan of love, to the praise and glory of His grace".

From all eternity we have been destined to become adopted sons, through Jesus.
From all eternity... these words go beyond us, we cannot seize their dimension. God is going to realize this eternal Plan of Love in time, through the creation of the world and the Incarnation of His Word in the middle of this world. Only, man sinned, and turned from the Plan of God. So God took up His Plan again, and it has become a Plan of Redemption. Jesus came amongst us, but He took upon Him all our sins, to permit us, through the Redemption, to receive divine life again, and to be sons through the Sacrament of Baptism. That is what Jesus came to give us back.

"It is grace He offers us in His beloved Son : In Him, by His Blood, we have deliverance, and the forgiveness of our sins".

From the moment of the Cross, we can say again : "Father, my Father, our Father".

"Inexhaustible grace which overflows to us, in all wisdom and knowledge, revealing to us thus, the mystery of love of His benevolent Plan : what He planned to accomplish in His Son in the fullness of time : to recapitulate in Christ all things of Heaven and Earth".

Word of Life

The prayer of faith :
What is the prayer of faith ?
There are three important parts to remember all your life :
"Lord let me see what You want,"
"Lord, make me want what You want,"
"Lord, let me do what You want."

Let me see, let me want, let me do.
H's very important : to see, to want, to do.
H's not enough just to see, we also have to want.
H's not enough just to want, we also have to do.
Help me, make me... Support me so that...
One doesn't say: "I 'm going to do", no ! "Help me to do", that's quite different. Help me to see, to want, to do.

This is a very important prayer, be sure to remember it all your life.
